FAQ

  • Can I purchase samples?

Yes. You can order samples of all our surface finishes and upholstery fabrics here.

  • Is custom manufacturing possible?

For larger orders and complex interior projects, we can manufacture custom products at the customer’s request.

Please consult our expert representatives to discuss your individual needs and possible solutions.

In most cases we rely on our proven standard range. Any custom design is subject to a feasibility assessment. Our broad expertise has enabled us to deliver complete interior fit-outs for both residential and commercial spaces in recent years.

  • What colour finishes are available?

All of our pieces are sealed with a linseed-oil & natural-wax blend (oil-wax).

    Standard finishes (included):

    • Natur - clear
    • White - tinted white for a lightened look
    • Brown - warm brown tone
    • Coffee - deep coffee-brown tone

    Optional oil-wax finishes (surcharge):

    • Dark Grey - subtle grey-brown tone
    • Chocolate - rich cocoa-brown tint

Not every shade appears in the online configurator. If you would like any finish that is not listed there, just send us a quick, non-binding request.

Note: Oak naturally takes on a deeper tone over time due to UV light and oxidation. A light re-oiling every few years refreshes the colour and maintains protection.

  • How is it with delivery and shipping?

You can find BEOAK furniture in the network of stores and partners listed on our website. Each authorized dealer offers products at the same retail price at their sales location. On orders over €1,000 / 25,000 CZK, delivery and carry-in service up to the second floor are free of charge.

For installations that require or allow it, you can also order professional assembly and wall installation. More information about these services can be found on this page or by contacting our dealers.

  • How long does delivery take?

Standard production takes 4 to 6 weeks from confirmation that the deposit has been received. For selected products that are in stock, a shorter delivery time may apply.

The standard delivery time does not apply to orders including atypical products.

The manufacturer, BeOak Prague s.r.o., reserves the right to change the delivery time (in response to changing factors entering the production process, subcontracting, and logistical solutions).

  • How is the product assembly carried out?

Products such as chests of drawers, chairs, and TV cabinets are delivered assembled. Beds, tables, and coffee tables are delivered unassembled. However, their assembly is very simple - usually only four screws are needed (see installation). The products are packed in five-layer paper carton with special corner protection.

We are happy to arrange assembly and installation for you with our own professional team, who will take care of delivery, carrying, assembly, and of course cleaning up all the packaging and so on.

Details can be found on the Transport, delivery and installation page.

  • What are the properties of solid wood?

Solid oak is richly textured; grain and colour vary from log to log and even within a single log (heart- vs. sapwood, radial vs. tangential cuts). Drying and finishing can accentuate these contrasts.

All visible parts of our furniture are solid oak. Some parts of our products, such as cabinet backs or drawer bottoms are made from oak-veneered MDF for stability. The centre beam of each double bed is solid oak.

    Additional points to know:

    • Seasonal movement – Oak absorbs and releases humidity, so boards can expand, shrink or develop hairline cracks over the year. This is natural, not a defect.
    • Tannins – Oak is high in tannic acid; unprotected contact with iron can leave dark marks.
    • Patina – UV light and oxidation turn the wood a warm honey tone; contrasts soften with time.
  • What does oil-treated surface finish mean?

Each piece is hand-oiled twice with a linseed-wax blend. Because solid oak is a living material, slight fibre lift or roughness can appear after transport or a change in humidity. This is easily smoothed with the quick re-oiling method in our care guide.

Oil emphasises the natural grain and colour contrasts of real oak, which is why every board looks different - unlike uniform veneer. With time and sunlight the wood develops a warm honey-coloured patina and the initial contrasts mellow.

  • What are the product quality parameters?

    Quality standards:

    • Board selection & layout – Boards are chosen for uniform colour and grain; the best faces go on tops/fronts, the next best on visible sides.
    • Grain matching – Tangential with tangential (or semi-radial), radial with radial (or semi-radial) for a coherent look.
    • Orientation – Good face out/up, lesser face in/down.
    • Repairs – Sound knots, fine cracks and minor machining marks are filled flush with colour-matched putty; no defects on visible edges. Cross-cut knots are allowed only in rustic grade.
    • Hidden areas – Interior surfaces you can see are filled and sanded smooth; fully hidden undersides are at least trimmed and sanded.
  • How to care for furniture with an oiled finish?

More details on how to care for your BEOAK furniture can be found on the following page.

  • How is it with upholstery?

All our upholstery fabrics are chosen for high durability and long-term use. Vacuum upholstered parts regularly and clean them with a gentle fabric cleaner, treating stains promptly without rubbing.

If you prefer, we can upholster your piece in a fabric you supply for an additional charge.

  • Can I renovate the furniture?

Our furniture is characterized by its long lifespan. If there is significant damage, whether due to long-term stress or an accident, do not hesitate to contact us - we will be happy to discuss the conditions of renovation directly in our production.

  • Where can I find 3D models?

3D models are available to architects and interior designers upon login via our BEOAK PRO platform. You’ll find the model files directly on each product page.

  • How to Import FBX Models into SketchUp

SketchUp does not support FBX files by default. There are two main options to work with FBX models:

    1. Using a plugin

The easiest solution is to use an importer plugin like Simlab FBX Importer, Skimp, or Transmutr. For example, after installing Simlab FBX Importer from the Extension Warehouse, you can go to Extensions → Simlab FBX Importer → Import and choose your FBX file.

    2. Converting the model

If you prefer not to use a plugin, you can convert the FBX file to a SketchUp-supported format like GLB or OBJ. Several online converters allow you to do this — simply upload your FBX file, wait for the conversion, and download the result.

You can then import the converted file into SketchUp. Textures are usually preserved, and the model scale should be correct. If the model appears too large, it may have been converted using millimeters as base units — in that case, scale it down by a factor of 1000.
