European Oak

We work exclusively with European oak, focusing mainly on sessile and pedunculate oak. Our timber comes from certified sawmills that guarantee premium quality and sustainable forestry.

Oak symbolizes strength, flexibility, and durability. Its natural beauty and distinctive grain – shaped by the climate, soil, and years of growth – gives each piece a unique character.

Structure of Oak

What makes oak exceptional isn’t just its look – it's the structure of the wood itself:

We use primarily the heartwood (the inner core), which is richer in natural tannins and resists moisture, fungi, and pests – all without chemical treatment.
Oak is a “ring-porous” wood, meaning its spring vessels are large and visually pronounced, creating its recognizable grain.
The direction in which the wood is cut matters. Radial cuts (across the rings) offer a clean, linear look and high dimensional stability, while tangential cuts (along the rings) bring out dynamic patterns and stronger textures – both are combined in our work to highlight beauty and strength.

Surface Finishing

We treat surfaces exclusively with natural oils and waxes based on linseed oil. This allows the wood to breathe, age gracefully, and develop its authentic patina.

We offer a wide range of finishes – from subtle natural tones to deep shades achieved by wood-aging techniques and pigmented oils. All finishes are renewable and easy to maintain.
